Remove extra description tags from footer

Asked on October 1, 2017 in Customization.

Hello, I’m having some problems with modifying my website’s appearance in social sharing posts.

There seems to be multiple og:description tags and some of them are taking precedent over the custom ones I want to display.

I identified my problem stems from the tags in layers’ footer area of the main html.

Is there a way to remove or modify the description tag that resides in the footer?

Or better yet, is there a way to remove the footer completely from the html?

I’m using a child theme, my url is www.rafaelmilcic.com

Managed to find an answer and am posting it here for anyone else having the same unlikely problem.

The fix is to disable Layers’ own Open Graph tags if you have another plugin generating them to avoid conflictions

You do that by going in appearance>customize>site settings>additional scripts and disabling open graph.
