How to add a gradient to transparent overlay header

Asked on June 21, 2017 in How To.

I currently have a black –> transparent gradient on my sticky header when I scroll down, and am trying to get the same on the header when it is “normally” at the top of the page. I have tried using  css with the target “.header-site.header-sticky.”, but it does not have any effect.

I am assuming that is because the transparency of the overlay header overrides it, but can’t work out how to change that with custom CSS. Simply changing to the non-overlay header option doesn’t work either, as I’d like the header video to be behind the header.
