How to Duplicate Layers Pages & Widgets
Automatic duplication allows you to take an entire page or widget layout and quickly apply it to another one.
Duplicating Pages
Page duplication comes in handy if you have a layout you created that you want to apply to additional Layers pages, and is just a fast way of exporting/importing.
- Go to Pages and click on the Layers page you want to duplicate
- Click the Duplicate button in the third column
- Wait a few seconds for the process to complete. You should see a success message appear.
- Return to the main Pages index and you will find the duplicate title with (Copy) at the end. Click to edit the Layout and change the title.
Import/Export
You can also export a page layout, then import it to a new or existing Layers page to make use of the widget setup in it. Widgets imported this way will merge with any existing widgets already in the page layout. Simply Edit the Layout and delete any widgets you don’t need.
See Backup Page Content, Layouts & Widgets for a complete guide to exporting page layouts.
Duplicating Widgets
The Widget Favorites plugin can be installed free under Plugins → Add New and allows you to duplicate specific widgets right from the Customizer. For example, if you are editing a Layers page layout and have setup a Content Widget a specific way, you can click the duplicate widget button to create a copy of that widget to use elsewhere in the layout.
