How to Hide Featured Media in WordPress Posts

Featured Images and Featured Videos are a core feature of WordPress that allows you to attach an image to a post which represents that post when it is linked, either through widgets, page templates, or social media. Layers adds an additional function that allows you to override the image with a video instead (Layers Options: Video URL). There may be cases where you want the image or video to be attached for these reasons, but not necessarily be pulled into the beginning of the post itself.

Layers Pro allows you to easily configure this from the Customizer under Blog  → Posts & Pages → Post Meta where you may uncheck Featured Media

The following steps walk you through adding simple CSS to hide the featured media on your posts, but keep it in all other places.

  1. Go to Layers Customize.
